Mobile app only: this feature is available in the Eventify mobile app. It isn't available in the web portal.
The Eventify app is your lead retrieval app. Leads are captured there, not in the portal. At your booth you can scan a badge QR code, photograph a business card or type a lead in by hand, and every lead goes into the list your whole booth team shares.
You can capture leads when both of these are true:
If you're linked to your company but can't find Lead Retrieval, ask your organiser to turn on lead retrieval for you. Without it, scanning someone saves them as a contact instead of a lead. See How Attendees Can Scan a Badge QR Code to Save a Contact in the Mobile App.
#image# App: Lead Retrieval dashboard with the Leads Captured chart and the Scan QR, Scan Business Card, Enter lead information and Export Leads buttons
The Dashboard opens first. It has four buttons: Scan QR, Scan Business Card, Enter lead information and Export Leads. The bar at the bottom switches between Dashboard and Leads.
Pinch the screen to zoom in on a small code. Swipe down with two fingers to switch between the front and rear camera.
The first time you scan, the app explains that "Camera access is required to scan QR codes and check in." Tap Continue, then allow camera access when your phone asks.
If you turned camera access down before, the app shows "This app needs permission to use this feature. You can grant them in app settings". Tap Settings and switch the camera on for the app. See How Attendees Can Manage Push Notifications and App Permissions in the Mobile App.
#image# App: Lead details screen filled in from a business card, with the SAVE button
If the card can't be read, you see "Oops! It seems we are unable to scan the card. Please try another." Try a clearer photo with the card flat and well lit, or enter the details by hand. The app keeps the card image, and View Business Card on the lead shows it later.
Use this for someone without a badge, or when a QR code won't scan.
Business card leads and leads entered by hand are listed under the Others tab in Leads.
Some visitors carry a QR code that isn't an event badge, for example a digital business card (vCard). Scan it with Scan QR in the usual way. If the app can read it, Lead details opens with the details filled in. Check them and tap SAVE. If it can't, you see "QR code is invalid!". Enter the lead by hand instead.
Event QR codes that aren't badges open what they belong to. An exhibitor, sponsor or speaker QR code opens that profile, and a session, Live Q&A or poll QR code opens that session screen.
The lead is saved to your company's list as soon as it's scanned. On Scan Result you can pick the lead score and answer your lead form questions straight away, then tap Done. If the booth is busy, leave the screen and qualify the lead later from Leads. See How Exhibitors and Sponsors Can Qualify, Sync and Export Leads in the Mobile App.
Everyone on your booth team sees the same lead list. The Captured By table on the dashboard shows how many leads each colleague has captured.
Venue Wi-Fi often drops at busy stands. You can keep capturing leads while your phone is offline:
Offline leads wait in the Offline tab in Leads. They don't sync by themselves. When you're back online, open the tab and tap Sync All.
Logging out or switching to another event deletes any leads still in the Offline tab. Sync them first.
What do the scan messages mean?
Can I delete a lead I scanned by mistake?
Not once it's saved to your list. Only offline leads that fail to sync can be deleted.
Can I scan badges at a trade show with my phone?
Yes. Open Lead Retrieval in the Eventify app, tap Scan QR and point your phone's camera at the QR code on the attendee's badge.
Can I scan badges offline?
Yes. Badge scans and leads entered by hand are saved on your phone and wait in the Offline tab until you tap Sync All. Business card scanning needs internet.
Why does scanning save a contact instead of a lead?
You don't have lead retrieval access. Ask your organiser to turn on lead retrieval for you.
Don't see this? Your organiser decides which features are switched on for your event and who can use them. See Why Attendees Can't See a Feature in the Event Portal.
