Your event name and description are the first things attendees see in the event app, on the event website and in search. This article shows where to set them in the Eventify admin panel, the limits that apply, and what to do if a word is flagged when you save.

A counter at the bottom corner of each field shows how many characters you have used. Event Name takes up to 60 characters and Event Description up to 10,000.
While you have changes that aren't saved yet, the admin panel shows "You have unsaved changes".
If your event has more than one language set up, a Translate button shows next to Event Name and Event Description.

Eventify is built for B2B events: conferences, trade shows, meetings and similar events, whether live, hybrid or virtual. Under the Restricted Businesses policy, Eventify does not host events in these categories:
Eventify keeps a list of restricted words linked to these categories. When you save, your event name and description are checked against that list. The check matches whole words and ignores capital letters. A restricted word is flagged whether it is written in capitals or lower case, but a longer word that only contains it is not.
Events outside the policy can be allowed in special cases, but only with Eventify's written consent. Eventify can remove an event that breaks the policy.
If a restricted word is found, the field shows a message like this:
"The sentence contains a prohibited word: [the word]. If you think this is a mistake, please reach out to the support team."

The message names one word at a time. If your text has more than one restricted word, you see the next one after you fix the first.
If your event is a B2B event and you think the word was flagged by mistake, contact Eventify support and include the word and your event name.
Is the event description required?
No. Only Event Name is required. A description helps attendees and search engines understand the event, so it's worth adding.
Why was a normal word flagged?
The list covers words tied to the restricted categories, and the check doesn't look at context. If your event is a B2B event and the word is used innocently, reword the text or contact Eventify support.
Are capital letters or part of a word checked?
Capital letters make no difference. Only whole words are matched, so a longer word that contains a restricted word is not flagged.
Can I get an exception for my event?
Some events can be permitted in special cases, but only after Eventify gives its consent in writing. Contact Eventify support before you publish the event.
Where can I see the full list of restricted words?
Eventify doesn't publish the word list. The Restricted Businesses page lists the categories the words are based on.
