How to Set Up Ticket Price

Published on
August 27, 2024

Setting a ticket price can be confusing if you do not know the details of the charges and fees. Eventify offers a transparent price calculator right during the ticket creation process.

The steps for creating a ticket includes an option to decide the fee contribution. Refer to How To Create Event Tickets From Scratch? for the detailed process.

When setting up ticket pricing for events, you have the flexibility to choose between "Absorb" or "Pass On" options, which determines who covers the Payment Gateway fee and Eventify's fee.

This gives event organizers the opportunity to define a pricing structure that generates profit for their events.

For example, A ticket Price is $100 and there are no special taxes added.

When you select:

  • Absorb: This fee amount will be borne by you and the ticket purchaser pays only the ticket price.

Ticket price for the buyer = Price + Tax Percentage (as set under Registration >> Registration Settings) = (100 + 10)

Additional Fees = Eventify Fee + Payment gateway fee = (1.00 + 3.49)

Since you have decided to Absorb the Fee, money to you is (110-3.49-1) = 105.51

  • Pass on: This fee amount will be borne by the ticket purchaser and the ticket purchaser pays the ticket price plus (+) the fee.

Ticket price for the buyer = Price + Tax Percentage (as set under Registration >> Registration Settings) + Eventify Fee + Payment gateway fee = (100 + 10 + 1.00 + 3.49) = 114.49

Since you have decided to Pass On the Fee, money to you is (114.49-3.49-1) = 110.00

🔺 In case you decide to add any specific tax for this particular ticket, then the Tax price set in Registration >> Registration Settings will be overwritten with the tax price and rest of the calculations will remain as described above.
