The App Home Screen is the first thing attendees see when they open your event app — so it's worth getting right. Eventify gives you full control over what appears there, how it's laid out, and what each section looks and behaves like. This guide covers everything from layout design to individual feature customization, all in one place.
To get started, log in to your Eventify dashboard and go to Setup > Branding > App Home Screen.

The home screen is built from sections — each one representing a feature or piece of content. You decide which sections appear, in what order, and how they're displayed.
To reorder sections, simply drag and drop them into the position you want. The order you set here is exactly what attendees will see when they open the app.
Each section has a visibility toggle. If a feature isn't relevant to your event, turn it off — it won't appear in the app at all. Note that hiding a section only removes it from the home screen; it does not disable the feature itself. You can re-enable it at any time.

Once the layout is set, you can go deeper and configure what each section does and looks like.
The banner sits at the top of the home screen and is one of the most visible elements. Upload a custom image here to reinforce your event branding. Recommended dimensions are shown in the upload interface — make sure your image looks good on both mobile and tablet screens.
This section surfaces the event agenda on the home screen. You can choose how many sessions to display, whether to show the full schedule or just upcoming sessions, and whether speaker names or session locations appear in the preview.
The Speakers section highlights your event speakers directly on the home screen. Control how many appear in the preview and choose between a carousel or grid display.
Feature your sponsors and exhibitors on the home screen by toggling these sections on. You can choose how their logos or profile cards are presented to attendees.
The Announcements section surfaces your latest news and updates to attendees right on the home screen. Enable or disable it depending on whether you plan to use the news feed during the event.
If networking is enabled for your event, this section gives attendees a quick way to find and connect with other participants. Show or hide it based on your event format.
The Promote Profile section lets attendees generate a personalized banner featuring their photo and name, which they can share on social media to promote their attendance. Toggle it on from the App Home Screen settings and it will appear as a "Promote Yourself" card in the app. Once enabled, attendees can tap it, pick a banner design, and share it to Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and more.
For advanced customization, Eventify allows you to add custom CSS and JavaScript to the web portal directly from this screen. Enter your CSS in the Web Portal CSS field and any custom scripts in the Web Portal Script field, then click Save.
You can also add custom sections to the home screen — for example, a link to an external website, a sponsor spotlight, or any other content block relevant to your event. Use the "Add Section" option and configure it with the content or URL you want to feature.
After making any changes, click Save. Updates to the App Home Screen take effect immediately — attendees who refresh the app will see the new layout right away. No need to republish the entire event.
Q: Where do I go to edit the App Home Screen?
Log in to your Eventify dashboard and navigate to Branding > App Home Screen. All layout and customization options are available from that page.
Q: Can I change the order of sections on the home screen?
Yes. Drag and drop the sections into any order you prefer. The order is reflected in the app in real time once you save.
Q: Can I hide sections I don't need?
Yes. Every section has a visibility toggle. Turning it off removes it from the home screen, but it does not disable the feature. You can turn it back on at any time.
Q: What is the difference between hiding a block and disabling a feature?
Hiding a block from the App Home Screen only removes the shortcut from the home view. The feature itself (for example, Networking or the Agenda) is still accessible to attendees through the app menu. To fully disable a feature, you would need to turn it off from its own settings section in the dashboard.
Q: What image size should I use for the banner?
The recommended dimensions are shown in the upload interface when you add a banner. As a general rule, use a wide landscape image with your event name and branding clearly visible.
Q: Does enabling the Promote Profile section cost anything extra?
No — Promote Profile is part of the Eventify platform. Once you enable it from App Home Screen settings, attendees can use it immediately at no additional cost.
Q: Can attendees see Social Boost if I haven't turned it on?
No. The Promote Yourself section only appears in the app after you enable the Promote Profile toggle in Branding > App Home Screen. If it's off, attendees won't see it.
Q: What happens if I save changes while the event is live?
Changes take effect immediately. Attendees who refresh the app will see the updated layout right away, so it's best to finalize your settings before the event starts.
Q: Can I add a section that links to an external website?
Yes. Use the Add Section option on the App Home Screen settings page and configure it with the URL and display label you want.
Q: Is there a limit to how many sections I can show?
There is no hard limit, but a focused home screen with the most relevant sections tends to give a better attendee experience than one with many sections competing for attention.
