The Gamification Leaderboard lets you track participant engagement, view points earned across challenges, manage bonus points, and export performance data. Here's how to use it 👇
Step-by-step guide
1: Go to Engagement > Gamification
From the admin panel sidebar, navigate to Engagement > Gamification.
2: Select "Leaderboard" from the sub-menu
Click on Leaderboard in the left sub-menu to open the leaderboard section.
3: View the User List tab
The default tab shows all participants ranked by their total gamification points. Each row displays the user's name, email, profile picture, and total points earned.
4: Search for a specific user
Use the search bar at the top to quickly find a participant by name or email.
5: View a user's point log
Click "View" on any user row to see their detailed point history — including which challenge earned them each point, the date, and whether it was earned or a bonus.
6: Edit a user's profile from the leaderboard
Click the edit icon on a user row to open their profile directly, without leaving the gamification section.
7: Switch to the Challenge List tab
Click the Challenge List tab to see all challenges with participation details. You can expand any challenge to view which users completed it.
8: Switch to the Quest List tab
Click the Quest List tab to see all quests. Each quest shows its total points and the number of tasks. From here you can:
- View the quest leaderboard
- View & verify quest entries
- Reset quest points
9: Open the Quest Leaderboard
Click on a quest name to open its dedicated leaderboard modal. This shows participants ranked by total points earned in that specific quest, with columns for rank, user, date, and points.
10: Quest Leaderboard — Team or User Group view
If the quest was set up with Team Participants or User Groups, the leaderboard automatically groups participants by their team/group, showing each team's total points and individual member contributions.
11: Add extra/bonus points to users
Click the "Add Extra Points" button in the leaderboard header. A modal will open where you can:
- Optionally select a challenge to link the points to, or choose "No challenge — bonus only"
- Enter the number of bonus points
- If a challenge is selected, choose whether to Add as bonus or Override existing points
- Click "Select Users" to pick which participants should receive the points
- Click "Save" to apply
12: Announce winners for a quest 🏆
From the Quest Leaderboard modal, click the "Announce Winner" button. This opens a 3-step wizard:
- Select Winners — Choose winners from the participant list (the number of winner slots is based on the "Max Winners" setting configured in the quest)
- Winning Message — Enter a congratulatory message that will be shown to winners
- Send Notification — Choose to send via Push only or Push + Email, customize the notification title, message, and optionally attach an image
Winners will be displayed with a trophy icon and rank badge on the leaderboard.
13: Export leaderboard data
Click the Export button to download the data:
- User List tab — Exports all user point logs as an XLSX file
- Quest Leaderboard modal — Click the download icon and select CSV to export rank, username, email, date, task name, and total points
14: Reset gamification points
Click the "Reset" button in the leaderboard header. A confirmation dialog will appear. Once confirmed:
- On User List / Challenge List tabs — Resets all gamification points for all users across all challenges
- On Quest List tab — Resets all quest-related points and submission responses
You can also reset points for individual users by clicking the reset icon on their row, or for a specific quest from the Quest List tab.
⚠️ Important: Resetting points is irreversible. All accumulated points and quest responses will be permanently deleted. Make sure to export your data before resetting.
💡 Tips
- Use the Quest Leaderboard to verify standings before announcing winners — you can search and sort to double-check rankings.
- When adding bonus points with a challenge selected, "Add as bonus" adds on top of existing points, while "Override" replaces them entirely.
- The CSV export from the Quest Leaderboard includes team names when the quest uses team-based participation — useful for sharing results with team leads.
- After announcing winners, the leaderboard automatically updates to show winner rankings with trophy icons. You can re-announce if needed.
- Use the "View" button on individual users to audit their point history before making any adjustments.
