Overview
Free tickets let attendees register for your event at no cost. You can use them for complimentary access, staff passes, or events with no admission charge. No payment gateway is required for free ticket orders.
Step 1 — Open Manage Tickets
Go to Tickets → Manage Tickets and click Add Ticket.
Step 2 — Set Ticket Type to "Free"
In the Ticket Type field, select Free.
The Price, Currency, Fee Setting, and Payment Method fields will disappear automatically — they are not applicable to free tickets.
Step 3 — Fill In the Required Fields
- Ticket Name — e.g., "General Admission", "Staff Pass"
- Ticket Description — What this ticket includes
- Sale Start Date and Sale End Date — When attendees can claim the ticket
- Minimum Booking and Maximum Booking — Tickets per order
Step 4 — Set Capacity (Optional)
Enter a number in the Quantity field to cap the total available free tickets. Leave it empty for unlimited capacity.
Step 5 — Set Status and Save
Set the status to Enabled (visible to attendees) and click Save.
Free Ticket Orders
When an attendee claims a free ticket:
- No payment is processed.
- The order is created with a status of Confirmed immediately.
- A confirmation email is sent (based on your email settings).
- Free ticket orders can still be refunded or cancelled from the Sales Report — no monetary transaction is reversed, but the order status is updated in Eventify.
Notes
- Tiered pricing is not available for free tickets (single-tier only).
- You can mix free and paid ticket types within the same event.
- Free tickets still appear in your Sales Report under the Orders tab.
