Networking controls whether your profile is shared with other participants at the event, and you need it on to use event networking features. With it on, people can find you, connect and message you. With it off, you stay private, but you can't interact with others either.

When you try something that needs networking, the Networking & GDPR Consent dialog opens. It says "By proceeding, you acknowledge and agree that your profile information will be shared with other attendees of this event."
You see "Your profile is updated successfully." You can then go back and do what you were trying to do.
Where a comment box would normally be, you may see "Please Turn On Networking / GDPR Consent" instead. Click that text to open the same dialog.

As the dialog says, "You can always turn this on/off from your profile section."
See How Attendees Can Complete and Edit Their Event Profile. If you can't find the field, contact your organiser.
If your profile has been set to invisible, you see "Your profile is invisible. Interactions are not allowed for your account." when you try to message or connect. Other people see "Invisible profile (No interactions)" on your profile. Contact your organiser if you think this is wrong.
The consent text and the switch are the same. In the app the Networking & GDPR Consent panel slides up from the bottom of the screen.
It opens when you try to message, connect, set up a meeting with Let's Meet, post, like or scan a QR code while networking is off. You can also tap the orange "Please Turn On Networking / GDPR Consent" bar where a chat or comment box would be, or Start Networking on the home screen.
Tap the switch so it reads Networking is On. The panel closes and you can carry on.
There's no networking switch in the app's Settings. If your organiser's profile form has a networking field, change it in Edit Profile and tap SAVE.
If your profile is invisible, other people who try to open it see "Access Denied". To stop showing your QR code to others, tap Hide My QR on the QR screen. See How Attendees Can Find and Download Their Personal QR Code.
Why does someone show as "Guest User"?
They've turned networking off or their profile is hidden, so their name isn't shared.
Can I look around the event without turning networking on?
Yes. You can browse sessions, speakers and exhibitors with networking off. You need it on for actions such as RSVP, commenting and messaging.
How do I hide my profile from other attendees?
Turn networking off in your profile form and click Submit. You're hidden from the attendee list, and other people see "Guest User" where your name would appear.
Why can't I message or connect with anyone?
Networking is probably off for you. Turn it on in the Networking & GDPR Consent dialog, or contact your organiser if you see "Your profile is invisible. Interactions are not allowed for your account."
