The desktop kiosk keeps a copy of your attendee list on the laptop. That makes QR code check-in fast and lets the kiosk keep working if the internet drops. This article covers the first download, the sync options and offline check-ins.
The first time you open an event on a laptop, the kiosk shows "First Time Setup" with the number of attendees ready to download.

The kiosk downloads attendees who are active and approved. People on a waitlist aren't included.
Click Skip & Use Now if attendees are already waiting. The kiosk opens the scan screen at once and downloads the list in the background. A "Syncing in background" card in the bottom right corner shows the progress.
Until the download finishes, each webcam scan looks the attendee up online, which is slower. Use Download Now (Recommended) whenever you have time, ideally the day before.
When the list is on the laptop, the scan screen shows the number of attendees at the top, for example "1250 Attendees".
Click the Sync button (top right, next to Logout) to open "Sync Data". Choose one option:

While a sync runs, the button reads "Syncing..." and a progress bar shows how far it has got. Click Cancel to close the window without syncing.
Use Templates & Settings Only after you change Kiosk Setup or a badge design in the admin panel. Use New Attendees Only during the event to pick up late registrations. Use Full Sync (Recommended) before the doors open, or if the list looks out of date.
A sync resets Two Sided Badge, the fold option and Disable Scan on the laptop to match Kiosk Setup. Your printer, Rotation and other laptop settings are kept.
While the scan screen is open, the kiosk checks for new and changed attendees about once a minute. This starts after the first full download has finished. Kiosk Setup and badge templates are not refreshed automatically, so sync them yourself after changes.
Once the list is downloaded, attendees can scan their QR code or search for their name with no connection. Badges print as normal because the printer is connected to the laptop.
If a check-in can't reach Eventify, the kiosk keeps it on the laptop until you sync it:

Offline check-ins are sent only when you click Sync All. If the sync fails, you'll see "Sync failed. Check your connection and try again." When the list is empty, the screen shows "No offline check-in logs".
Logging out deletes check-ins that haven't been synced. Always click Sync All before you log out.
How long does the first download take?
It depends on the size of your event and your connection. The progress bar shows how far it has got. Start it well before the doors open.
Do new registrations appear on the kiosk?
Yes. The kiosk picks them up in its automatic updates, or straight away when you choose New Attendees Only.
