Staff sometimes need to step in at a self check-in kiosk: to allow a second badge, correct a name or take a photo. This article explains what the kiosk passcode does and how staff handle each case on the desktop kiosk.
The passcode is a number you set in Kiosk Setup in the admin panel (Registration > Badge Printing > Kiosk Setup, then Passcode). Click Update to save it, then sync the kiosk with Templates & Settings Only.
On the desktop kiosk, staff use the passcode to:
The passcode doesn't lock the Settings, Sync or Logout buttons. Place the laptop so attendees can reach the screen and scanner but not the keyboard or trackpad.
In Kiosk Setup, Allow Multiple Print and No of reprints allowed control how many badges one attendee can print. When an attendee has printed as many badges as your setup allows, the kiosk asks for the passcode before it prints again.
To approve a reprint:

If the code is wrong, the field shakes red and clears. Try again, or click Cancel to go back without printing. Only the kiosk passcode works here.
Set a passcode whenever you limit reprints, so that staff can approve genuine reprints such as a lost or damaged badge.
Turn on Allow user to Edit profile information in Kiosk Setup. It works only when a passcode is set.

The kiosk rebuilds the badge with the new details. Print Badge is unavailable while a field is being edited, so save or cancel first.
The job title and company can only be edited when your badge template prints them.
If your event requires a profile photo, the kiosk asks attendees without one to take a photo before their badge prints.

Until a photo is taken, the preview card shows "Image required" and "Please capture a photo to print your badge", and Print Badge is unavailable. To take a new photo, click the small camera icon ("Retake Photo") on the card.
If the attendee clicks Cancel instead of taking a photo, the kiosk returns to the scan screen.
The photo is used on the badge printed at this kiosk. It isn't added to the attendee's Eventify profile.
If the kiosk shows "Camera Error" with "Unable to access camera. Please check permissions.", see How to Fix Common Desktop Kiosk Problems.
What's the difference between the kiosk passcode and the event code?
The kiosk passcode is set in Kiosk Setup. It approves reprints and saves edits. The event code also works for saving edits, but not for reprints.
Can attendees edit their own details at the kiosk?
Only with staff help, because saving an edit needs the passcode or event code.
