An event photo contest gets attendees taking and sharing photos, and gives you a set of pictures to use after the event. In Eventify the contest runs inside the event gallery and is switched on through gamification, so it sits alongside your other event gamification challenges. This guide covers turning the contest on, writing the rules, and announcing the winners.
The contest is a gamification challenge with the type Gallery Contest. It is ranked, so instead of points per action you choose the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and later winners yourself.

You see "Challenge state updated successfully". To end the contest later, turn the same toggle off.
The Gallery Contest challenge isn't one of the types you create with the add challenge button. If you don't see it in the list and you deleted it earlier, click Recover Deleted Challenges to bring it back. If it isn't there at all, contact Eventify support.
The Contest Settings button appears in the gallery only while the Gallery Contest challenge is active.

The rules need at least 100 characters. Save stays greyed out while the text is shorter. After saving you see "Challenge updated successfully!".
Next to Contest Settings you'll find Content Moderation. It opens the moderation page, where you can review reported photos and posts waiting for approval. See How to Configure Content Moderation and Personal Features in Eventify.
Announcing winners takes two steps: Select Winning Users, then Send Push Notification.

A photo can only win one place. Once it is picked for one place, it can't be picked again for another.
On the second step, set up the message to the winners:
The notification goes only to the people you picked as winners. With Email & Push Notification, the email reaches only winners who have a registered email address. You see "Notification sent successfully!" and the winners are saved to the contest.
To change the winners, open Announce Winner again. Your earlier picks are filled in, so you can adjust them and send again. Click Back on the second step to return to the winner picks.
While the contest runs, attendees see a "Photo Contest" banner at the top of the gallery. They can read your contest rules and upload a photo to enter. After you announce the winners, the banner changes to "Winner Announced" and the winning photos are pinned at the top of the gallery with their place badges. Why don't I see Contest Settings in the gallery?
Contest Settings shows only while the Gallery Contest challenge is active. Turn it on in Engagement > Gamification > Manage Challenges and reload the gallery.
Can I choose the photo contest winners myself?
Yes. Winners are always picked by you in Announce Winner. You choose the person and the exact photo for each place.
How many winners can a photo contest have?
Start with one place and click Add for each extra place you want. Each place needs a different photo.
What happens if I delete a winning photo?
It is removed from the contest winners as well as from the gallery.
Do winners get an email?
Only if you choose Email & Push Notification, and only winners with a registered email address receive it. Push Notification sends an app notification only.
