If you want to manually review who gets access to your event, you can enable approval-based registration. Once enabled, every new registration will sit in a pending state until you approve or decline it. Approved attendees get their confirmation and declined ones are notified automatically.
Path: Registration > Registration Approval
Registration approval needs to be enabled on each form you want it applied to. Go to Registration > Registration Forms, open the form, and go to its Settings page. Turn on Admin Approval Required. Once that is done, new registrations coming through that form will require manual approval.
On the same Settings page, you will also find two additional options that work alongside approval.
Pre-Approval List — Upload a list of attendees who are pre-approved. Anyone on this list can complete registration without waiting for manual review. This is useful when you have a set of confirmed attendees you want to let through automatically while still screening everyone else.
Restricted Emails or Domains — Upload a list of specific email addresses or domains that should be blocked from registering. Anyone matching this list will not be able to complete registration. Use this to prevent registrations from unwanted individuals or organisations.
You can also act directly from the list without opening the detail view. Click the green checkmark to approve or the red X to decline. A confirmation prompt will appear before the action goes through.
Both actions send an automatic email to the attendee. Approved attendees receive a confirmation with their ticket or access link. Declined attendees receive a decline notification. Both emails use your configured templates, which you can customize under Settings > Email Templates.
Q: Where do I enable registration approval?
Go to Registration > Registration Forms, open the form you want approval on, and enable Admin Approval Required from the form's Settings page. You need to do this individually for each form where you want approval to apply.
Q: What is the Pre-Approval List used for?
It lets you upload a list of attendees who can skip the approval queue and register directly. Anyone on the list will not be held for review even when Admin Approval Required is turned on.
Q: How do I block specific people from registering?
Use the Restricted Emails or Domains option on the form's Settings page. You can upload individual email addresses or entire domains, and anyone matching that list will be prevented from completing registration.
Q: Can I add a personal message when declining a registration?
Custom messages per decline are not supported. The standard decline email template is sent. You can customize that template text under Settings > Email Templates to fit your event context.
Q: Can attendees reapply after being declined?
A declined attendee can submit a new registration unless you block their email. Their previous submission stays in the declined list.
Q: Do all registration forms require approval once I enable this?
No. Approval is enabled per form. Only forms where you have turned on the approval setting will hold registrations for review. Other forms will continue to confirm registrations automatically.
Q: What happens if I approve or decline by mistake?
There is no automatic undo. If you approve someone by mistake, you can manage their access from the attendee list. If you decline someone by mistake, they will need to register again or you can add them manually.
