After creating campaigns, you may need to edit a draft, clone a successful campaign, pause an active one, or archive old campaigns. This guide covers all the actions you can take to manage your campaigns throughout their lifecycle.
Understanding Campaign States
Every campaign is in one of these states, visible in the tab bar at the top of the campaign list
How To Edit a Campaign
Step 1: Find the campaign you want to edit
Navigate to the Campaign section and locate the campaign. You can only edit campaigns that are in Active state. Inactive or completed campaigns cannot be edited.
Step 2: Click the "Edit" action on the campaign
Click the Edit option from the campaign's action menu. This opens the campaign editor where you can modify the campaign name, subject, email content, recipients, and schedule.
Step 3: Make your changes and click "Save"
Update any fields as needed and click Save to apply your changes. If you are ready to send, remember to set the status to Active before saving.
How To Activate or Deactivate a Campaign
Step 4: Click "Archive" or "Delete" on an inactive campaign to archive or delete it
Inactive campaigns cannot be activated or edited. They can only be archived or deleted.
Step 5: Click "Inactivate" to move an active campaign to Inactive
On an Active campaign, click the inactivate action. The campaign will stop and move back to Inactive status. Note: Emails that have already been sent cannot be recalled.
How To Archive a Campaign
Step 6: Click "Archive" on a completed campaign
Once a campaign is completed and you no longer need i, click the Archive action. The campaign moves to the Archived tab. You can still view its analytics and email logs from there.
How To Delete a Campaign
Step 7: Click "Delete" to permanently remove a campaign
Click the Delete action to remove a campaign. Warning: This action cannot be undone. The campaign and its configuration will be permanently removed. Email logs and analytics for already-sent emails may still be available.
Campaign Lifecycle Summary
Here is the typical flow of a campaign through its states:
All: This tab displays all campaigns regardless of their current status, giving you a complete overview in one place.
Active: The campaign is live and will send emails based on the defined schedule and settings. It can also be edited.
Inactive: The campaign is not currently sending emails and can be archived or deleted.
Completed: The campaign has finished sending all scheduled emails and is no longer active.
Archived: The campaign is no longer in use but is stored for reference. You can still view its analytics and email logs.
Understanding these states helps you track where each campaign is in its lifecycle and manage them more effectively.
Tips for Managing Campaigns
Review before activating: Always double-check your content, recipients, and schedule before moving a campaign to Active.
Leverage past campaigns Use completed campaigns as a reference or clone them to save time when creating new ones.
Archive instead of deleting: Archive campaigns you may need later instead of deleting them permanently.
Track performance: Regularly check completed campaigns to understand engagement and improve future campaigns.
Keep your campaign list organized: Use clear naming conventions so it’s easy to identify campaigns across different states
