Queues at the door are the first impression of your event. With facial recognition check-in, attendees walk up to the kiosk, look at the camera and get their badge, with no ticket to find and no QR code to scan. The kiosk matches each face against the attendee's profile photo and then runs the same check-in and badge printing flow as a QR scan, so Auto Print, Auto Check-in and Allow Check-in Only all work as before.
Face Recognition is a Beta feature for the Eventify app's Kiosk Mode on Android and iOS. Setting it up takes three steps:
Recognition runs on the kiosk itself in Local mode, so it keeps working when the venue Wi-Fi doesn't. A liveness check rejects photos and phone screens held up to the camera. When a face isn't recognised, the kiosk tells the attendee to use their QR code instead, and on a face-only kiosk a staff passcode can temporarily bring back QR and search for one attendee.
Attendees just need a clear profile photo. In the Eventify app they can switch Allow facial recognition on or off in Settings, and the admin panel flags anyone whose photo can't be used so you can ask them to update it before the event.
