According to a recent report by IHS Markit, there will be more than 20 million ‘connected devices’ in the world by the end of 2017 – marking a ~15% YoY increase from 2016. As interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) has surged, so has the level of investments in the technology. The total amount of spendings on IoT is expected to touch the $800 billion mark this year. Several interactive, high-profile business events focused on smart things and IoT have already been organized this year, with ‘IoT Week 2017’ (organized by International Forum on the Internet of Things) being held earlier this month. Let us here look forward to some interesting IoT events and conferences that will be held in July 2017:
IoT Evolution Conference & Expo
Set to be organized from the 17th to the 20th of July, the IoT Evolution Expo will offer visitors an in-depth insight of the many benefits of IoT – right from business problem resolutions and improvements in efficiencies, to the revenue boosts that the technology has on offer. Well over 150 renowned industry speakers will be present at the show, which will be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, United States. A special ‘Best Of Show Award’ (covering as many as 6 different categories) will be organized during the event, along with many other special events (Enterprise IoT, IoT Innovations, Security Certification, etc.). Corporate visitors from over 90 countries are expected to attend IoT Evolution Expo – with active participation from company directors and presidents, tech engineers, coders, business consultants and buyers. Organized by BZ Media, AnDevCon is a one-stop event for all the Android developers out there. The event – which will kickstart on July 17 – will be a three-day affair, with a series of informative, educational hackathons, tutorial classes and interactive sessions. There will be a special focus on artificial intelligence as well, and the networking opportunities here will be excellent. Visitors have the option of taking their pick from three alternative event tracks (Machine Learning, Android Fundamentals, Cross-Platform Development). Exhibitors have the scope of generating fruitful business leads at the show. The learning opportunities and sheer information-rich nature has enhanced the popularity of the AnDevCon event. International Conference on Graphene and Semiconductors

Asia IoT Business Platform
The 14th edition of Asia IoT Business Platform – billed as the most important internet of things-related event in Southeast Asia – will be hosted in Bangkok on the 24th and 25th of July. Black Hat USA 2017
This July, Mandalay Bay (Las Vegas) will play host to the 20th Black Hat USA event. It will be a 6-day event, with technical training sessions scheduled on days 1, 2, 3 & 4, and the main conference to be held on days 5 and 6. Security is the main topic of the Black Hat USA event, and all the latest news, views and updates related to this field will be put under the spotlight here. The latest open source tools, research reports, risks and trends will be highlighted during the ‘Briefings’, while the training sessions will involve interactive skill-development sessions (for offensive/defensive hacking). Thanks to the presence of 15000+ information security professionals, there will be ample networking scopes at Black Hat USA 2017. This one features among the biggest annual IoT events held globally. The 4th Fintech Awards will be held during the show, along with engaging workshops, campus visits and high-quality networking sessions.
